i kind of believe the way i animate things and build things are a bit outdated. And I’ve seen very good first levels recently.
I’m not sure what you mean by ‘stuck in 2023’.
You could play levels you like and try to analyse what makes them the way they are. Pay attention to things like how effects are used, animation curves, colours, overall layout.
Seconding Catix here, this doesn’t really indicate much at all. Do you have specific examples of things you feel like are different in your levels? From the screenshot I don’t see anything wrong, but it is just a still image of atree.
If this is a first level, this actually looks really impressive. If you want to improve you could study other levels, like Catix suggested, and you could improve more generally by watching videos on things like animation principles and color theory.
In this screenshot specifically of the (presumably) unfinished tree, I think you could look up some references for trees if you haven’t already and try to mimic those. You can also look up a tutorial on how to draw trees, since I’ve found that sometimes the concepts transfer over.
Hi, catix is spelled with lowercase ‘c’! Thank you! ![]()
i actually take my reference from this part in springtime but i got a bit too lazy copypasting leaves all over again ![]()
