i think i’ve made about five characters in this game so far, only one with a finished level. all of them have basic designs and don’t really stand out. i usually make normal levels, but i still want to be able to make good looking bosses.
so, i’ve spent the past week attempting to create unique designs. this is concept art, so i’ve put less focus on making them look good and more on getting the general idea of the characters down.
description of each character and their level:
- sentient fireball. this boss mainly attacks by launching themselves across the screen. the fight gradually gets more difficult as fire spreads throughout the level.
- king with metal powers. has the ability to turn anything he touches into metal. wears a cape and can switch between two forms. i’ve drawn this one in a different style than the rest because the level i have in mind actually uses a different visual style than what i usually make.
- mysterious forest person. protects themselves with rocks, and has the ability to do… nature stuff. can’t really determine whether they’re a good or a bad guy.
- sentient equalizer… yeah.
- programmer. relies on technology due to not having any powers. works for a company focused on creating revolutionary devices. part of a story idea based on one of my older levels (god complex, if anyone knows what that is).
- space void being. this one is part of another storyline i’ve thought of. they have the ability to turn damage they’ve taken into energy. this energy is constantly moving around him (the dots and lightning), and can be released as his own attacks. you fight along side him as you fight more dangerous bosses.
again, the whole point of drawing these is to get better at creating character designs. if there’s anything you think could be improved, PLEASE let me know!
